PURPOSE: A sensing signal diagnosis device and method for a fuel gage sensor are provided to effectively diagnose the sensing signal of a fuel gauge sensor in an exhaust gas measurement mode by determining whether a noise-filtered sensing signal is less than a sensing signal change limit value.;CONSTITUTION: A sensing signal diagnosis method for a fuel gage sensor comprises steps of: filtering a sensing signal output from a fuel gauge sensor using a noise removing filter(S10), determining whether the current state satisfies a set basic diagnosis condition based on at least one of driving distance and time and fuel consumption(S20), if the basic diagnosis condition is satisfied, determining whether a set basic vehicle movement condition is satisfied based on at least one of the accumulated speed change rate of the vehicle, the sensed pressure of a fuel tank, and the wheel sensing value of the vehicle(S30), if the basing vehicle movement condition is satisfied, determining whether the change rate of the noise-filtered sensing signal is less than a set basic sensing signal change limit(S40), and determining the malfunction of the fuel gauge sensor according to the determination result(S50,S60).;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2012
