PURPOSE: A device for detecting a surface leakage current of a support insulator is provided to measure a leakage current flowing on the surface of a support insulator by using potential difference between a detection electrode and a lower metal unit. CONSTITUTION: A detection electrode(10) is contacted with the surface of a support insulator(1) and collects currents flowing on the surface of the support insulator. A detecting unit(20) is electrically connected to the detection electrode and a lower metal unit. A detecting unit detects the potential difference between the detection electrode and the lower metal unit and produces the leakage current value flowing on the surface of the support insulator. A transformer(40) transforms a signal about a leakage current value into a signal recognizable signal in a microprocessor(50). A wireless communication unit(60) transmits measurement information inputted to the microprocessor by wireless.
