Polymer gels, clay bonded

A charged claylinked gel is described, said charged claylinked gel comprising clay nanoparticles which are crosslinked by a charged polymer. The crosslinking is such that any particular clay nanoparticle is linked to at least one other clay nanoparticle by said charged polymer. A method for producing the charged claylinked gel, and the use of the gel in absorbent articles is also described.
