IDENTIFICATION METHOD OF FULLERENES C₆₀ AND C₇₀ IN STEELS AND CAST IRONS

FIELD: measurement equipment.;SUBSTANCE: invention refers to the procedure of determining fullerenes C₆₀ and C₇₀ in iron-carbon steels. Metal sample of iron-carbon alloy is crushed and treated with hydrofluoric acid. The formed deposit is filtered, dried and crushed. The obtained fine powder is mixed with potassium bromide powder. The obtained mixture is added to the pill and identification of fullerenes is performed on IR Fourier spectrometre. The obtained spectra are decoded according to reference spectra of C₆₀ and C₇₀ fullerenes.;EFFECT: invention allows improving efficiency and sensitivity of the method for determining fullerenes included in the composition of steels and cast irons.
