FIELD: medicine.;SUBSTANCE: read values of the conductometric microparticle counter PICOSCALE are subtracted from each other at various voltage thresholds in increments 0.5V; absolute red blood cell count with various volumes is calculated by formula: E_a=E_n-E_n+1, where E_a is absolute red blood cell count with various volumes, E_n is red blood cell count of volume exceeding a discrimination level, i.e. reading with a minimum cell volume detected by the device at the preset voltage threshold, E_n+1 is a following value of red blood cell count of volume exceeding a discrimination level in the following position of a voltage adjuster, and an red blood cell percentage is determined by the relation of absolute red blood cell count with various volumes to total red blood cell (RBC) count.;EFFECT: method allows detecting pathological changes in red blood cell population, and providing higher accuracy of cytometry and reducing time of the procedure.;1 ex
