FIELD: medicine.;SUBSTANCE: invention refers to ophthalmology , namely to methods for prediction of complications in patients suffering progressive myopia. An ultrasonic biometry technique is used to size an anteroposterior axis (APA) of each eye; each case the APA size of each eye exceeds a value equal to 25 mm is recorded. It is followed by elastotonometry of each eye with using Maklakov tonometers 5 g and 15 g. Imprinted tonometres enables measuring diameters of cornea flattening in mm. Then cornea deformations are calculated by formulas, mm: CD=D15-D5 for each eye, where CD is a cornea deformation; D15 is a flattening diameter measured by the Maklakov tonometre 15 g; D5 is a flattening diameter measured by the Maklakov tonometre 5 g; then actual intraocular pressure of a right eye P0OD and a left eye P0OS (mm Hg) is determined. If CD≤2.5 mm and P0≥18.0 mm Hg, development of eye glaucoma is predicted; the values CD2.5 mm and P0≤10.0 mm Hg enables predicting development of chorioretinal eye dystrophy.;EFFECT: method allows enhancement and simplified procedure of prediction of development of complications in patients suffering progressive myopia.;2 ex
