The lift i.e. multi-directional reach truck (1), has a vehicle chassis provided with two wheel arms (7, 8) that are distantly arranged with each other and connected by a cross-beam (10). A gap (9) is formed between the wheel arms, and a mast (11) is supported in the gap with a fork arrangement (12). Wheel arrangements (13a-13d) are supported at the vehicle chassis for driving the vehicle chassis in multiple directions, and comprise omnidirectional wheels and a drive unit. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a wheel arm-supported multi-directional fork lift.
