The method involves attaching a chamfer (16) at an outer edge on an edge band (14) on a side of a furniture board (10) to be painted. A paint layer (22) i.e. UV-hardening paint layer, is completely applied on the furniture board by an inking roller (20), which protrudes over the chamfer. The chamfer runs at an angle of 40 to 50 degree to a surface of the furniture board to be painted, where the color of the paint layer and the edge band is identical. The edge band is made of plastic. The chamfer is formed by milling or grinding.
