The optical marker (1) has a light source that is emits a light cone (7) in the direction of the target person. A semiconductor element is utilized as the light source, particularly in form of a light emitting diode, where the luminous intensity of the light source is adjusted in dependence of the distance of a target person (3). An independent claim is also included for a method for optical marking of target person.
