Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD), adopted by the United Nations on December 13, 2006, the Polish government signed on March 20, 2007 and ratified on September 6, 2012. In connection with the long-term functioning of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities "In Poland, in 2016-2018, a project entitled "Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities - a Common Deal." The project was implemented by a consortium consisting of the leader: Polish Disabled Persons' Forum (PFON) and partners: Akademia Pedagogiki Specjalnej (APS), Kancelaria Prawnicza Domański Zakrzewski Palinka (DZP), Lublin Forum of Disabled People's Organizations - Regional Parliament (LFOON), Warmian-Masurian Sejmik People with disabilities (WMSON). The author of this text belonged to the group of project implementers. The aim was to identify the existing types and manifestations of discrimination against persons with disabilities under individual rights contained in the Convention. The project was implemented on the basis of two stages. The first consisted in identifying existing discrimination, the second in identifying the necessary legal and non-legal changes to eliminate discrimination identified at the first stage. The article presents the results from the first stage of the project implementation (2016-2017), in which 1641 people participated (people with disabilities, members of their milieus, specialists), referred to the area of education of children and adolescents with sensory disabilities (based on opinions obtained from 237 people with visual impairment, 122 deafblind persons, 216 people with auditory disability). The identified barriers and proposals formulated for legal acts regulating educational, rehabilitation and therapeutic assistance (Act on the education system, Act on Vocational and Social Rehabilitation and Employment of Persons with Disabilities, Law on Social Assistance, Law on healthcare benefits financed from public funds).
