The method involves clamping a test block (24) and milling a measuring surface in a preset position. The measuring surface is orientated in the test block in a pivot position of rotary axes (B, C). A tool spindle (14) and/or the test block are pivoted at the rotary axes into another pivot position. Other measuring surfaces are mill in a preset position, where orientation of the latter measuring surfaces corresponds to the orientation of the former measuring surface. The measuring surfaces are measured by a measuring sensor based on orientation of a numerically controlled machine tool (10).
