The mechanism has an operating actuator (11) for providing actuating force to a transmission shifting unit (10) e.g. normally-open-coupling unit. A retaining unit (12) includes an energy storage unit (13) for holding the transmission shifting unit. The energy storage unit temporarily stores the actuating force of the actuator. A decoupling unit (14) decouples the energy storage unit in an operating phase of the shifting unit from the actuator. The decoupling unit has actuating elements (16, 17) adjustable relative to each other along an actuation direction (15). The actuator is designed as a pressurizing medium-operated hydraulic actuator. An independent claim is also included for a method for implementing a transmission shifting mechanism.
