The method involves fixing an edge region (14) of a deep-drawn component (10) between a die-plate and a blank holder of a deep drawing tool during deep drawing process. The edge region of the component is provided with a profile (16) i.e. locking- and/or trimming profile. The component is trimmed after the deep drawing process for removing the edge region of the component. The separated edge region is sectioned through a cross-cut (20). The profile of the edge region is cut in region of the cross-cut and/or formed in flat-shape. An independent claim is also included for a device for implementing a method for cutting a deep-drawn component.
