The item has a substrate that is partially made of elastomer and/or polymer. An abrasion-stable coating is formed on the substrate. The substrate is structured within a sealing region of the item partly by elevations (9), where the coating reproduces outlines of the structuring. The distance of elevation maxima of the structuring to each other is in the range of 50-250 micrometer. The elevations are in the form of an equal-legged or unequal- legged triangle or a trapezoid with rounded off corners. An independent claim is also included for a method for producing a sealing item.
