The belt (3) has a luminescent material formed as a photoluminescent material, which is a fluorescent material and a phosphorescent material. The luminescent material is formed as an electroluminescent material. The luminescent material enables lighting up of articles (2) i.e. screws, present at the belt. The luminescent material is applied with a coating on the belt. A lighting mechanism (9) is provided in a motion direction (x) of the belt before test area to activate the material. An electrical voltage is applied to a driving roller (4) and/or to a guide roller (5) to light up the belt. The lighting mechanism is formed as a commercial lamp. An independent claim is also included for a device for testing articles.
