The method involves compressing gas i.e. air, in a pressure container. The residual heat of compressed gas partially cooled in a individual containers or systems in stages by supplying into low temperature water containers is used for heating or pre-heating of water and for a district heating plant. The compressed gas is utilized in a valve for driving a compressor, a turbine or a pump such that the electrical energy is generated. Glaciation is counteracted during unloading the air by a heat source.
