The module (10) has a light source e.g. LED (14), for emitting light, and an auxiliary optic (26) associated with the light source for controlling the emitted light. An optical coupling medium e.g. transparent silicone gel (22), different from air is arranged between the light source and the auxiliary optic. The light source is enclosed by a sealing compound (18) in a form of gel or solid in hardened condition, where the sealing compound is made from resin. Refractive index of the medium lies between refractive index of the transparent body and refractive index of the optic.
