The brake has a circular piston (1) movable along a longitudinal axis by subjecting of pressure chambers (10, 11) with hydraulic fluid. The piston comprises a bore hole that is provided parallel to the axis. Another piston (2) is arranged in the bore hole and movable parallel to the former piston by subjecting of other pressure chambers (20, 21) with hydraulic fluid. An inner surface of the former piston and an outer surface of the latter piston are designed in a cylindrical type and run concentrical to each other. The pistons are arranged concentrical to a rotation axis of brake disks (45). An independent claim is also included for a method for operating the hydraulic brake system.
