The material requirement registering device (18) has a material management system (10) with an electrically operated communications module for transmission of signals representing a material requirement to a remote receiving device. An electric energy supplying unit provides electrical energy to the communication module by converting mechanical energy into electric energy. The electric energy supplying unit has an actuating organ (20) which is manually operated by a user. The electric energy supplying unit has a rotary generator, where a rotor is driven by actuating the actuating organ. An independent claim is also included for a material requirement detecting system, particularly in assembly- or manufacturing plants.
