Polymeric material, which is mixed with an electrically conductive additive, useful for many industrial applications, preferably for tubing and multi-layer fabric for forming flexible containers, tarpaulins, and protective suits
Polymeric material (2, 22), which is mixed with an electrically conductive additive, is claimed, where the electrically conductive additive is present in the form of nanotubes (4, 8) that are aligned in a uniform direction within the polymer material by an electrical- and/or magnetic-field and/or ultrasound. Independent claims are included for producing the polymeric material comprising either: mixing the electrically conductive additive in the form of nanotubes in a polymeric mixture, which is diluted with a solvent, aligning the nanotubes in the polymer mixture during the evaporation of the solvent by an electrical and/or magnetic field and/or ultrasound, where the electrical conductivity of the nanotubes within the polymer mixture act in a single direction (X), and final processing of the polymeric mixture, after a drying time to an operational polymer material with the directed electrical conductivity (X) of the nanotubes; or forming a suspension comprising at least one solvent, a single- or multi-component reaction mixture and the electrically conductive additive in the form of nanotubes, evaporating the solvent in the formation of the suspension with changing concentration levels by increasing reaction instead of the single- or multi-component reaction mixture to form a more flexible deformable polymeric material after the evaporation of the solvent, aligning the nanotubes during the reaction of the single- or multi-component reaction mixture and/or during the state of deformable or flexible polymeric mass by an electrical and/or magnetic field and/or ultrasound, where the electrical conductivity of the nanotubes within the polymeric material act in a single direction (X), and final processing of the polymeric mass, after drying it to an operational polymer material with the directed electrical conductivity (X) of the nanotubes.
