The controller (1) is formed with current paths (3,3a-3c) for energization of the high-current device. A current evaluation device (6) is provided for evaluating the energization over the current paths. The current path is formed with resistance elements (4a-4c) and the current evaluation device has a voltage measuring device and a calculation device. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for manufacturing a controller; (2) a method for operating a controller; and (3) a computer program product which is loadable in a program memory with program instructions.
