The sensor (1) has a ring-shaped sensor element (2), particularly sensor housing for a torque sensor of a steering system for fixing at a shaft (3). A connecting area (4) is provided which is arranged at the sensor element for force-fit connection of the annular sensor element with the shaft. A locking ring (5) is provided which radially surrounds the connecting area. The locking ring is formed in its longitudinal cutting line such that it is displaced axially relative to the annular sensor element during mounting of the annular sensor element.
