The steering gear has a steering gear housing (1), in which a steering pinion (5) and a steering spindle (11) are supported. The steering pinion and the steering spindle are connected over a torsion bar (12) to conduct a torque to the steering pinion. The torque is guided over the steering spindle. The torque causes torsion of the torsion bar. The steering spindle or the steering pinion has a stud hole shaped receiving section, in which an end of the torsion bar is fitted. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a steering system formed as electrical auxiliary steering thrust system; and (2) a method for mounting a steering gear.
