The connection element (10) has an axial section made of a plastic material which commensurate with the plastic of the plastic pipe and has another axial section made of a welding technology plastic material not compatible with the plastic of the former section. Two hollow cylindrical components (12,13) are connected with each other in axial direction. The former component is made of the plastic material and the latter component is made of another plastic material. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a connection element.
