The component (10) comprises a surface (11), where a metallic coating (12) having an optical partial transparency is applied on the surface and is determined in such a way that the color appearance of the surface with the appearance of the coating yields an overall appearance. The color appearance of the surface has a specific color or is black. The metallic coating has a thickness of 50 nm, where the thickness is implemented in such a way that the optical partial transparency is formed by small thickness, where the partial transparency has a value of 30-70%. The metallic coating is applied by a sputtering process and is carried out as a chromium coating, a chromium-nickel coating or as a stainless steel coating. A microstructuring is subjected in the metallic coating in such a way that the metallised and unmetallised part regions of the surface are divided from one another. The subdivision is produced in the metallized and unmetalized part regions by a masking method and/or by an ablation method.
