The layer system for coating a substrate, comprises a silver alloy layer having two alloy elements, where the proportion of silver in the silver alloy layer is 99.90 mass%, and the proportion of the alloying element in the silver alloy is 0.01-0.09 mass%. The silver alloy layer has a thickness of 9-15 nm, and/or the layer system is dielectrically arranged above or below the silver alloy layer such as oxide layer. The layer system has an emission degree of 0.05 against infrared radiation or the emission degree is formed as low E-coating system. Independent claims are included for (1) a substrate having a layer system; and (2) a method for producing a coated substrate.
