The method involves cooling a refrigerating or cooling region of the cooling or refrigerating appliance (1) by a coolant circuit of a compressor, condenser and evaporator. The waste heat of the condenser is used for heating another house hold appliance. The coolant circuit is controlled for adjustment of the temperature of the heating region, particularly on the basis of a control impulse of another household appliance. An independent claim is also included for a cooling or refrigerating appliance.
