The seal (10) has a set of bristles (20) fastened to a retaining unit, where a cross-section area of a portion of the bristles exhibits a salient angle. The cross-section area is designed in form of a polygon, an equilateral triangle, a rectangle, a square, a rhombus and/or a hexagon. The bristles are arranged offset to each other in layers and positioned in a bristle housing. The bristles are arranged at a distance from one another with an intermediate area. A thermoplastic resin, a metal-aramide, polyetheretherketone (PEEK) or metal is selected as bristle material.
