The method involves filling a cavity (9) with air in reducing agent tank (1) during a local unfreezing of frozen reducing agent solution or a local extraction of partially liquid reducing agent solution. The air filling is performed by a reducing agent-feed pump (7) which is operated in the reverse direction.
