The method involves feeding the reducing agent quantity (A) by a dosing valve in multiple partial doses (B) in a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) catalyst during a request of a reducing agent quantity by a SCR catalyst in a correction-operation mode (2). The correction value is determined, which is used in a normal operation (1) of the SCR catalyst system in order to correct the reducing agent quantity fed in the SCR catalyst.
