Method for adaptive knock control of internal combustion engine of motor vehicle, involves determining octane number of fuel from amount of areas, and calculating correction value of ignition angle, based on determination of number
The method involves adjusting ignition angle associated to predetermined engine cylinders, and forming amount of areas, whose ignition angle values are provided according to a pre-determined selection mode for computing an average value of a knocking correction value. Another amount of areas is formed from the former amount of areas. An octane number of fuel is determined from the latter amount of areas. A correction value of the ignition angle is calculated, based on determination of the octane number. Knocking signals are detected by a knocking sensor (3).
