The device has a route data providing device whose interface reads right and right angles (alpha1, alpha2) of an object i.e. oncoming vehicle (F2), to be glared and route data over areas of route section (A-I), where the route section lies in front of a motor vehicle. A calculation unit determines whether the route section is similar to the curvaceous or not. The calculation unit produces actuating parameters for adjusting a low beam distribution of a head light, when the route section is curvaceous, where the parameters are transmitted to regulator control elements via the interface. An independent claim is also included for a method for controlling light distribution of head light of motor vehicle.
