The sensor (21) has a signal receiver (3), and a housing comprising a guide surface (26) for guiding the sensor during positioning of the sensor in a fixed roller bearing part i.e. axle journal (1), or a carrier. The surface forms a fastening unit for fastening the sensor in a form-fit or force-fit manner. The surface is partially formed by a support ring (22). The surface comprises an outer layer (24) that is plastically deformed during a screw effect. Retaining elements are aligned at opposite ends of the housing, where the surface is formed by a hollow-cylindrical sleeve of the housing.
