The power system have an expander (7), a feeding pump (1), a coolant heat exchanger (3), an exhaust gas heat exchanger (5,6) and a capacitor (8), where evaporation pressure level of a working fluid corresponds to a vapor pressure at the operating temperature of the coolant heat exchanger. A recuperator (4) is provided, which utilizes the waste heat from of hot steam flowing towards the expander. The exhaust gas heat exchanger delivers the heat of the charge air of an internal combustion engine to the working fluid. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) an apparatus for utilizing a Rankine process to use the heat of an internal combustion engine, particularly reciprocating engine; and (2) a boiler for vaporizing a liquid working medium.
