The device has a closing device in the form of a slider (13) and two molded articles, which are movable to each other. The plastic component has two different projected surface areas in the mold cavity. The closing force (5) of the larger projected longitudinal surface area (B) is absorbed by a molding tool orthogonal to a mold opening. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing plastic components such as syringe plungers or for manufacturing plastic components with similar shapes.
