The actuating device (10) has two controllable drive devices, where the latter drive device is controlled independent of the former drive device. The two drive devices are coupled with an auxiliary unit or a receiving device by common planetary gear arrangements (3,5,16). The auxiliary unit or a receiving device is movable by the planetary gear arrangement in the two drive devices. The latter drive device is arranged at a fixed position relative to the former drive device. An independent claim is also included for a method for controlling an actuating device.
