The method involves impregnating a veneer with a substance consisting of a curable furfuryl bond and a bond separating organic acids under temperature stress. The veneer is deformed within a multidimensional distortion while retaining the original density of the veneer. The form of the impregnated veneer is maintained at increased temperature such that a catalyzed polymerization of the curable furfuryl bond takes place by the bond separating organic acids and geometry of the deformed veneer is durably fixed due to formation of covalent bonds of a polymer with the veneer.
