The method involves applying synthetic resin in a surface area of a particle board, where viscosity of the synthetic resin is produced in relation to porosity of a covering layer of the particle board such that the synthetic resin is penetrated into the covering layer. The synthetic resin is selected from a group consisting of acrylate, polyurethane, isocyanate, epoxy resin and aminoplast resin. The synthetic resin is dried and cross linked by heat or short-wave infrared radiations after applying the synthetic resin in the surface area. An independent claim is also included for a particle board comprising a middle layer and a covering layer provided in two surface areas.
