The method involves pressing a plate shaped part i.e. fuel cell (1), an upper seal part (2a) and a lower seal part (2b) together by pressing force (Fp) produced from pressing force components (Fp1, Fp2). The pressing force components are spaced apart from each other, where a stack of plates (3) is introduced in space between the components such that detection of the pressing force components takes place based on a predetermined number of the stack of plates. Clamping forces are introduced in the stack such that sizes of the pressing force components decrease to an equal amount. An independent claim is also included for a device for manufacturing a stacked component.
