The method involves producing an electrically isolating coating at a component i.e. intermediate element (114), of a fuel cell stack (100) using ceramic material and/or glass material. Ductile material is provided at another component i.e. housing lower part (112) such as interconnector, and/or between the two components. The components are connected with each other by the ductile material, by performing ultrasonic welding process using a sonotrode at a frequency in the range of 10-120 kilo Hertz. An independent claim is also included for a component assembly comprising two components.
