The hybrid drive train has a combustion engine (1) and a gear drive with two partial gears (3,4) for the traction interruption-free switching. Multiple electric machines (EM1,EM2) are provided which are brought in operative connection with the combustion engine. One of the electric machines assigned to a partial gear is brought in an operative connection with the combustion engine by form-locked switching elements (K1,K2). An independent claim is also included for a method for operating hybrid drive strand for a vehicle.
