A system and method for configuring high performance radio with communication parameters using limited configuration performance

A radio device, such as a long-range radio device, is provided that can be configured with a limited, configuration-only power supply that is insufficient for normal operation of the radio device. A portable, limited power source enables an effective on-site configuration of a radio at a remote installation site. A corresponding method for configuring the radio device is also specified.
