The vehicle seat has a backrest (1) and a deflecting device (3) for belt strap guidance of a safety belt. The deflecting device has a lead-in area (3.2) for leading-in a belt strap (2) of the safety belt. The deflecting device has a loop unit (3.1) arranged in a shoulder area of the backrest. The loop unit is rotatable around a rotational axis running perpendicular to a cross-sectional surface of the lead-in area. The axis is arranged in an end area of the loop unit.
