The method involves establishing a controlled connection (102) of exhaust gas circulation from an exhaust gas outlet (36) connected to an exhaust gas recirculation circuit (84) towards another exhaust gas outlet (32). A winnowing unit i.e. exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve (88), of the exhaust gas recirculation circuit is placed in an opening position for controlling exhaust gas circulation in the exhaust gas recirculation circuit by the controlled connection. An independent claim is also included for a device for controlling exhaust gas recirculated at an inlet of a supercharged internal combustion engine.
