The decorticator has a cylindrical container (1) for receiving seeds (8), where a fixed bottom of the container is equipped with an abrasive coating (3). A circular disk type lid (2) is fitted in the container to contact the seeds in the container. An interior surface of the lid is equipped with another abrasive coating (4). The lid is provided with an actuation unit (7) for driving the lid in rotation in order to decorticate the seeds by abrasion between two abrasive surfaces of the container and the lid. A damping element is placed under one of the coatings.
