The machine (1) has a conveyor (4) for transporting objects (2) to a labeling station (6) along a conveying direction (D). The labeling station includes printing units (12) for printing labels (10). A sensor (26) is placed on the conveyor near the labeling station, to detect presence of the objects to be labeled and to transmit a passage signal of the objects to be labeled to the labeling station. A blocking element (34) is arranged between a blocking position, in which the printing units do not print the labels, and a passage position, in which the printing units print the labels.
