The method involves controlling transmitted torque to a transmissible torque value obtained by a transmissible torque law based on a clutch stop position (u-m). The law is permanently adapted to real static characteristics of a position-controlled input clutch, by in-line identification of parameters of the clutch, where the parameters comprise coefficients representing displacement of a clutch stop in a kiss zone of the clutch, a curve in the kiss zone and a variation rate of torque between a closing position of the clutch and an entry position in the kiss zone.
