The case (3) has a door knob hole (30) presenting external teeth that is driven by a handle. A slide (6) is moved in translation state, where the slide comprises a portion forming steering rack (60) matching with the teeth of the door knob hole. The slide has connections units for coupling with a connecting rod (1) or disconnecting the connecting rod. Each unit has an indexing unit (7) cooperating with a complementary indexing unit (10) and equipping the connecting rod so as to relatively regulate the position of the rod relative to the slide. An independent claim is also included for an espagnolette lock comprising a trowel.
