The method involves obtaining colors of a fusioned color image (IFU) by indexing a color look-up table (T), where the index of the table is defined by a pair of values of a pixel identically positioned in two images (I1, I2) to be fusioned. The colors of the fusioned image are linearly combined with colors relative to one of the two images to be fusioned. The color of each pixel of the fusioned image is defined by two chrominance components. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a device for fusion of two images representing a same scene in different spectral bands, to obtain a fusioned color image (2) an image fusion system comprising acquisition systems.
