Preparation of a cosmetic composition comprises adding at least one film forming polymer in the form of pre mix with one or more volatile linear alkane having 9-14C, to a medium comprising at least one additional cosmetic ingredient, where the film forming polymer is different from alkane copolymer. Independent claims are included for: (1) cosmetic composition obtained by the process, comprising film forming polymer, one or more volatile linear 9-14C alkane, and at least one medium comprising at least one additional cosmetic active ingredient; and (2) a cosmetic product in the form of the premix obtained by the process, comprising at least one liposoluble film forming polymer and one or more volatile linear alkanes.
